Nobody asked me to start.

I came home from a season as an entertainment host on Carnival Cruise Line and started going back to church. At the time I was livestreaming Star Trek Online for anybody who wanted to watch — which is the only reason I knew, sitting in service one Sunday, that Historic Little Rock Baptist Church could be streaming too. We already had the computer. We needed a capture box.

I said so. We bought one. We went live in 2013, and I have been building that operation ever since — cameras, graphics, social, the whole pipeline. Thirteen years in, I am VP of the Media Ministry. The part I would point to is not the gear. It is that Christmas has never moved and Easter has never moved. The program ships on the day, every year, whatever else is going on.

That is the pattern behind most of what is on this site. I proposed a festival’s theme and the committee adopted it as the year’s name. I conceived and directed a documentary nobody assigned me. I executive-produced a gospel album and got it onto every major streaming platform before Thanksgiving. I asked a U.S. Senate candidate the one question no other outlet asked him, and his campaign published the clip themselves.

The craft is on the other four pages. This is the part underneath it: I notice what is already possible, and then I go do it.

On the degree.

I stopped at an associate’s in 2010 because I thought talent and two years would be enough to work in the arts. A decade out in the world taught me otherwise — if the portfolio is not extraordinary, they want the paper. So I went back and finished my B.A. in Communication at Wayne State in 2025.

I am not done. Eventually I want a doctorate in communication. First I want the job.
